What Does a Water Eject Sound Do?
A speaker creates sound by moving its diaphragm back and forth. A Water Eject sound uses that movement to create vibration and pressure changes at the speaker opening.
When movable moisture is sitting around a compatible opening, this movement may help displace droplets so they can move away from the speaker.
The tool does not detect water, measure how much moisture is present or confirm that the inside of a device is dry. It should therefore be treated as a practical sound-based step -- not a water-damage diagnosis or repair.
When Is Water Eject Worth Trying?
Water Eject is most relevant when the sound changed shortly after limited moisture exposure and the speaker still produces audio.
Examples include:
- muffled sound after a splash;
- speaker output that became quieter after getting wet;
- moisture around an exposed speaker opening;
- temporary loss of clarity following light water exposure.
If the device experienced significant liquid exposure, will not power on, becomes unusually hot, behaves unpredictably or shows other signs of damage, a browser sound is not an appropriate substitute for device-specific safety guidance or physical inspection.
How to Get Water Out of a Speaker
1. Remove the device from the source of moisture.
Wipe visible exterior moisture with a soft, dry cloth. Do not insert objects into speaker openings.
2. Check the device manufacturer's guidance.
Water resistance and recommended handling vary by model. Follow device-specific instructions where available.
3. Position the affected speaker opening sensibly.
Where practical, orient it so moisture can move away from rather than deeper into the opening.
4. Run Water Eject.
Use a comfortable, moderate volume. Let the cycle complete rather than repeatedly starting and stopping it.
5. Test the speaker.
Play familiar audio or use our Speaker Test.
6. Reassess.
If the speaker remains muffled, moisture may not be the only cause. Continue troubleshooting rather than simply increasing the volume.
Water Eject vs. Dust Cleaner
Water and debris can produce similar symptoms, but they are different problems.

What Water Eject Cannot Do
Water Eject cannot repair corrosion, damaged electronics, a torn or failed speaker driver, internal liquid damage or another hardware fault.
It also cannot remove liquid from every part of a device. The sound is produced by the speaker; it is not a general-purpose method for drying internal electronics or charging ports.
Do not treat a completed cycle as proof that a device is dry.
What Should I Do After the Cycle?
Test the speaker at an ordinary listening volume.
If clarity has improved, allow the device additional time to dry naturally according to its manufacturer's guidance.
If there is no meaningful improvement, use Speaker Test and review other possible causes of muffled audio. Do not keep increasing the volume simply because the first cycle did not help.
